In response to requests from providers, CBR Services has rerun the information included in Comparative Billing Report (CBR) 022 Home Health Services to measure the data by episode.

The results are three tables, which list the state and national averages for three utilization measures:
  • Average number of home health visits per episode
  • Average number of home health therapy visits per episode
  • Average Medicare payment per episode

The national average for number of home health visits per episode is 18.31 and the national average Medicare payment per episode is $1,301.52. Highest number of episodes by state was in Utah with 27.89. The highest average reimbursement was also in Utah at $2,061.64.
