VNAA Submits Statement to the House Ways and Means Committee on Home Health Copay
On May 21, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health scheduled a hearing on bi-partisan proposals that would modify beneficiary cost-sharing policies in the Medicare program. This hearing comes after President Obama released his FY 2014 budget which included specific changes to the Medicare cost-sharing policies as follows:
- increasing income-related premiums for Medicare Parts B & D;
- increasing the annual Medicare Part B deductible; and
- establishing a home health co-pay.
VNAA, along with other national organizations in the Leadership Council on Aging (LCAO), strongly opposes any efforts to establish a home health copay. To read VNAA’s statement on copays, please click here.
