VNAA Submits Statement to House Ways and Means Hearing on Medicare

On June 14, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health held a hearing to explore bipartisan proposals, including proposals in the President’s FY 2014 budget, to reform Medicare post-acute care payments.

The witness list included Jonathan Blum, Deputy Administrator and Director, Center for Medicare, at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Mark Miller, Executive Director of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC). This is the fourth hearing in a series of hearings on potential proposals to reform Medicare. On May 21, the subcommittee held a hearing to review policies on modifying beneficiary cost-sharing including potential home health co-payments. To read more on that hearing, please click here.

VNAA regularly meets with key MedPAC and CMS staff to inform them of VNAA concerns.
