Dr. Bruce Siegel, CEO of America's Essential Hospitals, to speak at VNAA Public Policy Leadership Conference

Dr. Bruce Siegel, President and CEO of America's Essential Hospitals (formerly the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems) will be one of the keynote speakers for VNAA's Public Policy Leadership Conference on Sept. 18 and 19 in Washington, D.C.

 

Dr. Siegel has an extensive background in health care management, policy and public health. Before joining America's Essential Hospitals, he served as Director of the Center for Health Care Quality and Professor of Health Policy at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. He also previously served as president and CEO of two of the largest healthcare systems in the United States and commissioner of health for the state of New Jersey. Dr. Siegel is a leader on quality and equity conducting projects for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Commonwealth Fund, the California Endowment, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.  

 

Other speakers include: Laurence Wilson, Director, Chronic Care Policy Group, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Dr. Mark Miller, Executive Director, Medicare Payment Advisory Commission and Cheri Lattimer, RN, BSN, Executive Director, Case Management Society of America. A panel of key staffers from the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee will also speak. Sens. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and John Thune (R-S.D.) and Reps. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.-3) and Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio-22) have been invited to speak at a congressional reception.
