CMS announced that it is seeking input from hospice providers on the Affordable Care Act’s Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP).  Using a random sample, CMS will be contacting a very limited number of hospice providers to participate in a telephone interview.  Information gleaned from interviews will be used in the further development of the program.  VNAA encourages agencies that are selected by the random sample to participate.

CMS says it would like feedback from providers to ensure a better understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, priorities and provider burden from the HQRP.  CMS would also like to:  1) identify the ways that providers guarantee the accuracy of data, 2) how the quality program has affected patient services and outcomes and 3) what CMS can do in the future to improve the program and processes. For more information, please contact the CMS contractor, Pat Hanson at phanson@hcareis.com.
