Last week, CMS hosted an Open Door Forum to review the proposed Home Health star ratings. CMS intends to add a composite star rating on Home Health Compare by summer 2015. The star rating will be developed using a combination of 10 individual measures that are currently collected and reported through Home Health Compare. HHAs will have an opportunity to see their Home Health Compare Star Ratings several weeks prior to posting on the Home Health Compare website when a preview report is posted in their CASPER folder.

On the call, CMS reviewed the methodology for calculating the star ratings and took questions. CMS is accepting comments on the proposed methodology through January 16, 2015. A summary of the proposed Home Health Compare star rating methodology is available here. Frequently Asked Questions have been posted here . CMS is accepting additional comments about the star ratings system at this address.

VNAA is preparing comments and will work with members prior to finalizing our submission on January 16th.
