Antiwar protesters took to the White House to decry American foreign policy, specifically the war in Afghanistan, Monday, Oct. 5. Protests are planned across the country this week surrounding the eighth anniversary of American combat operations in Afghanistan on Oct. 7.

Last week, the CMS issued the 2016 proposed physician fee schedule. The rule proposes Medicare coverage for two advanced care planning service codes to reimburse physicians and other eligible providers for discussions with Medicare beneficiaries about advanced illness and end of life care. The rule also proposes to cover telemedicine services related to end-stage renal disease counseling in a patient's home that are billed within three days a hospital visit or within 30 days of a nursing home visit.

More detail on the proposed approach can be found in the CMS Fact Sheet and the proposed rule. VNAA will closely evaluate this proposal and provide more information to our members when available.
