On Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, more than a thousand healthcare stakeholders came together to discuss the advancement of alternative payment and delivery models at the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network Summit. The Network is a public-private partnership to advance the adoption of alternative payment models. At the Summit, attendees engaged in discussions around different payment initiatives being led by providers, health plans, and employers. In advance of the Summit, the Network released a draft white paper on a framework for alternative payment models that set the stage for many of the discussions. There was also a significant focus on how we ensure that new models are patient-centered, with CMS Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt urging participants to not "declare victory until our patients declare victory."

If you are interested in learning more about the Network, you can sign up to participate (for free) here. Materials from the Summit sessions will be made available shortly on the Network's website.
