As part of its new Cardiovascular Health Improvement Initiative, the Home Health Quality Improvement (HHQI) National Campaign has recently created the Home Health Cardiac Council. This diverse group of 20 representatives from government agencies and healthcare-related organizations from across the country identifies opportunities for cardiac and home health communities to work together to improve preventive cardiovascular care. The Council also provides input on HHQI campaign strategies and educational materials.
“We are very excited to be a part of this great initiative,” said Zainab Dumbuya, President and CEO of The Cardiac Connectionand member of HHQI’s Home Health Cardiac Council. “HHQI has been an excellent resource for our organization, and our team of highly skilled and experienced nurses looks forward to collaborating with the home health community.”
The Home Health Cardiac Council is just one piece of HHQI’s new Cardiovascular Health Improvement Initiative that supports the goal of the national Million Hearts® initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes in the United States by 2017. HHQI has also developed new Best Practice Intervention Packagesand customized data reportsdesigned to help home health agencies improve preventive cardiovascular care. As with all of HHQI’s resources, these materials are free of charge.
