The National Quality Forum’s Board (NQF) approved a trial period to “assess the impact and implications of risk adjusting relevant quality measures for sociodemographic factors, prior to making a permanent change to NQF policy,” according to a press release from NQF.

Details on what measures will be endorsed by NQF, the exact timeline and trial submission guidelines and objects are still in development. VNAA members may recall VNAA submitted extensive recommendations to NQF regarding risk adjustment for sociodemographic factors earlier this year, including sharing outcomes from the Vulnerable Patient Study.
