Two VNAA Members Selected for CMS Quality Measure Workgroups

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid continues its development of quality measures in home health and hospice. Two VNAA members—Beth Hennessey, RN, BSN, MSN and Danielle Pierotti, RN, PhD, AOCN, CHPN—were recently nominated and have been asked to participate on these newly formed workgroups and committees.

Beth Hennessey, RN, BSN, MSN, Executive Director at Sutter Center for Integrated Care at Sutter Care At Home, has been selected to Participate in a Patient Engagement Measure Development Work Group. The Lewin Group and Mathematica under contract with CMS convened this group to develop new measures in patient engagement.

Danielle Pierotti, RN, PhD, AOCN, CHPN, Director of Clinical Practice and Chief at HCI Care Services in Iowa, has been selected to participate on the Technical Expert Panel (TEP) of CMS Hospice Quality Reporting Program. This panel will convene over several years to develop and review new measures for the CMS's hospice quality programs.
