VNAA Submits Comments on Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CCJR)
This week, VNAA submitted comments to CMS on the mandatory bundled payment program proposed for 75 regions. While in the current proposal home health and hospice agencies are not financial at risk for performance, the CCJR program offers agencies the opportunity to partner with their hospital partners to improve the quality and efficiency of care for joint replacement patients. Agencies may also enter into arrangements with hospitals to share in any savings generated. VNAA submitted a number of comments on the proposal, including a request that CMS replace some of the proposed hospital-centric performance measures with measures that capture performance in the 90 days post-discharge and a request that CMS waive the homebound status for purposes of using home health services to improve performance.
