Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the public comment period for the modification of the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) C2 due to the implementation of the IMPACT Act.
Home health agencies have until May 31, 2016, to submit comments on the draft changes that are slated to be implemented January 1, 2017. Included in the changes to the OASIS-C2 document are three new standardized items, renumbering for items under ICD-10, consolidation of checkboxes, changes to the look-back period and changes to pressure ulcer staging.
