Section: Quality and Educational Programming

Have you ever wondered why VNAA works to align and maximize quality and policy? Can you define and understand “rulemaking” and its impact on daily operations and patient care? Do you sometimes wonder where all these changes come from?
The National Quality Forum (NQF) is a nonprofit membership organization that promotes patient protections and healthcare quality through measurement and public reporting. NQF’s membership includes more than 400 organizations, representing consumers, health plans, medical professionals, employers, government and other public health agencies, consumer groups, pharmaceutical and medical device companies and other quality improvement organizations.

VNAA is a standing member of NQF and its members actively takes part in the Post-Acute Care/Long-Term Care Workgroup and the Palliative and End-of-Life Care Standing Committee, in addition to numerous other workgroups and committees. VNAA nominates members to join committees and take part directly in consensus building efforts about quality in home-based care.
NQF offers numerous opportunities to learn about the relationship between quality and policy, including a series of two-minute videos available here
