Linnea Windel, President and CEO of VNA Health Care has been named West Suburban Philanthropic Network's Non-Profit Executive of the Year. The Non-Profit Executive of the Year award is presented to a senior-level non-profit executive who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing the mission and services of his or her organization for the benefit of residents in the western suburbs.

The West Suburban Philanthropic Network (WSPN), an organization dedicated to supporting development professionals and advancing philanthropy presented this prestigious award at its recent Eleventh Annual Philanthropy Awards Luncheon.  The purpose of the award program is to recognize and celebrate those individuals, businesses, foundations and organizations that provide so much to sustain and enhance the rich philanthropic environment that is fundamental to the quality of life in the western suburbs.
In her acceptance of this award, Ms. Windel paid tribute to the founders of VNA and highlighted the 95-year history of the organization dedicated to providing outstanding patient care to the most vulnerable men, women and children throughout the west suburban communities that VNA serves. Ms. Windel also shared with the group of 300 attendees the news that VNA will be opening a second Health Center in east Aurora in the late autumn of 2013.  This new Health Center is being constructed to serve the over 32,000 low-income people not yet receiving affordable health care within this area and VNA is currently seeking philanthropic support from the community in order to bring this care to the people who need it most.
VNA Health Care is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, dependable, and comprehensive health services to the community. Today, VNA Health Centers provide affordable primary and preventive health care to men, women, and children. In addition to the Health Centers, VNA offers home care and hospice services.  Patients are cared for in a bi-lingual, friendly environment by a team of over 300 physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, registered dietitians, medical social workers and support personnel.
