The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) sent out 2014 membership renewal notices this week. Included in each notice is a summary of the benefits members received in 2013 and some highlights of what to expect next year. This year included a renewed strategic focus on delivering the best possible advocacy, leadership and education for the home health and hospice industry. Highlights include:
  • A new strategic plan to guide VNAA’s work on behalf of the nation’s nonprofit home health, hospice and palliative care agencies through 2015. The full plan is available on the VNAA Website by clicking here.
  • The launch of the VNAA Blueprint for Excellence: a Pathway to Best Practices in Home Care. This new quality improvement and workforce training resource provides information and tools for home health organizations, payers, policymakers, researchers and others with a stake in improving care transitions. To learn more about this groundbreaking new tool, please visit the official Website at
  • VNAA’s policy and advocacy activities continued to support members’ bottom line. Alongside members, VNAA staff had a robust calendar of meetings with senior officials at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Government Accountability Office (GAO), and the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC). These meetings covered multiple issues including Home Health Prospective Payment System rebasing, proposed hospice payment changes and the impact of ongoing audit practices and procedures. To learn more about VNAA’s advocacy efforts, please visit the advocacy pages on the VNAA Website by clicking here.
In these economically and politically challenging times, nonprofit home health and hospice providers can always count on VNAA. The work that VNAA does on behalf of its members would not be possible without their financial support. Please renew your investment in VNAA today.
