BETHESDA, Md. - May 7, 2015 - DecisionHealth today selected the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) Blueprint for Excellence: Hospice and Palliative Care for its prestigious Case in Point Platinum Award in the category of Case Management Specialty Programs: Home Care and Hospice/Palliative Care Programs.
The VNAA Blueprint for Excellence: Hospice and Palliative Care is a free, web-based quality improvement and workforce training resource for hospice and palliative care providers. It advances the use of best practices by gathering into one virtual location curriculum and training tools, as well as the relevant research supporting those tools. The best practices featured in the Blueprint are consistent with recommendations developed by the Institute of Medicine, the National Consensus Project's Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care and other research.
"VNAA is very proud to accept this award, which recognizes the innovation and quality of our members and their commitment to improving hospice and palliative care delivery by developing and sharing best practices," said Tracey Moorhead, President and CEO of VNAA. "We particularly thank those members who helped review the research and compile these best practices. Their hard work enables us to make the VNAA Blueprint for Excellence available for free to all hospice and palliative care providers," added Margaret "Peg" Terry, VNAA's Vice President of Quality.
VNAA also received a nomination in this award category for its home health-focused VNAA Blueprint for Excellence: Care Transitions.
