Vice President of Public Policy Kathleen Sheehan Departs VNAA
Vice President of Public Policy Kathleen Sheehan has ended her tenure at VNAA to take a new position with the American College of Cardiology. In her time at VNAA, Kathleen was a tireless advocate for VNAA members on Capitol Hill and with regulatory agencies, taking a bi-partisan approach and enlisting a number of allied organizations in her work. As the head of public policy, Kathleen developed VNAA's policy platform around the guiding principle that all should have access to quality care, not matter their ability to pay and championed the innovation of home health, hospice, palliative care and community nonprofit providers.
Kathleen also worked closely with rural and hospice providers to add their unique issues to VNAA's overall policy and quality strategic mission. She represented VNAA in many different arenas including the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations, a coalition of 53 national organizations. Kathleen also co-led the VNAA-VNSNY Study of Vulnerable Patients, which addresses patient characteristics and payment shortfalls.
Please join VNAA in wishing Kathleen the best of luck in her new position.
